Intersubjective Self Psychology (ISP) is the theoretical platform that, as a collective, we have developed over the past 30 years. Its hallmark is that it keeps the therapist’s focus steadily on what we as human beings hope and yearn for, and what is needed in the therapeutic relationship to realize those hopes, while fully aware of the fact that this also entails working through our fears and dreads and the obstacles that derive from them. ISP is a clinical theory of hope.
